Job summary

Penn Medicine in Philadelphia is seeking a PRN EEG Technologist in Neurology. Under physician direction, you will perform adult and neonatal EEG studies, apply electrodes, calibrate equipment, and ensure data quality while explaining procedures to patients.

You will verify orders, check equipment, review EEGs, and communicate urgent findings to Epilepsy physicians, while also assisting with scheduling and billing duties.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required
• Completion of accredited EEG school program or 3+ years EEG experience
• BLS certification required; EEG registry within 2 years of hire (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Explain test procedures to patients and apply recording electrodes.
• Calibrate equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions and ensure quality data.
• Record EEGs according to lab standards and communicate urgent findings to Epilepsy physicians.
• Educate ICU nurses and hospital staff on equipment operation and electrode removal techniques.
• Schedule patient testing and coordinate communication across inpatient units.
• Ensure billing accuracy and maintain CEUs/credentials.
