Job summary

Exceptional Community Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma is seeking a dependable, motivated PRN Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join our fast-paced ED team, working with nurses, providers, and other professionals to deliver safe, compassionate care.

As an ED Tech, you will assist with direct patient care, obtain vital signs, perform phlebotomy, initiate IV access within scope, run 12-lead EKGs, and help with emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Previous healthcare or direct patient care experience preferred.
  • Emergency Department, hospital, EMS, or acute-care experience strongly preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • IV Therapy certification preferred.
  • Phlebotomy and IV insertion experience preferred.
  • Experience obtaining 12-lead EKGs preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses and providers with direct patient care and emergency procedures.
  • Obtain vital signs and report changes to the RN.
  • Perform phlebotomy and obtain laboratory specimens.
  • Initiate peripheral IV access within training and scope of practice.
  • Perform 12-lead EKGs and communicate completion to the care team.
  • Assist with patient positioning, transfers, mobility, and activities of daily living.
  • Assist during emergency and resuscitation situations, including CPR.
  • Prepare patient rooms and equipment for incoming patients.
  • Clean and restock patient care areas between patients.
  • Maintain appropriate supplies and ensure equipment is ready for use.
  • Transport patients, specimens, and equipment as needed.
  • Answer call lights and respond appropriately to patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, providers, patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within assigned responsibilities.
  • Follow hospital policies, infection prevention practices, patient safety standards, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Contribute to a professional, supportive, and team-oriented Emergency Department environment.

Exceptional Community Hospital in Ardmore, Oklahoma is seeking a dependable, motivated, and team-oriented PRN Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join our Emergency Department team.

Our ED Techs are an important part of the patient care team, working alongside nurses, providers, and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care.

What You'll Do

As a PRN ED Tech, you will provide hands-on patient care and clinical support under the direction of the RN and provider. Responsibilities include:

What We're Looking For
  • Previous healthcare or direct patient care experience preferred.
  • Previous Emergency Department, hospital, EMS, or acute-care experience strongly preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • IV Therapy certification preferred.
  • Phlebotomy and IV insertion experience preferred.
  • Experience obtaining 12-lead EKGs preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to recognize and promptly communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in emergency situations.
  • Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently within assigned responsibilities while remaining an engaged member of the healthcare team.
Schedule
  • PRN / As Needed
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Weekend availability
  • Holiday coverage as needed
  • Additional shifts may be available based on department staffing needs
