Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a Cardiac Ultrasound Imaging Specialist to perform comprehensive pediatric and adult echocardiography including 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, Tissue Doppler and transesophageal studies. The role requires patient prep, study preparation for physician review, and PACS operation.

Candidates must have RDMS/RDCS/RCS credentials or be eligible, hold current CPR, and pursue registry status within 1 year of hire, maintaining it with ongoing CE.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate preferred.
  • Must have formal training and be eligible for RDMS/RCS/RDCS.
  • Current CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Must be experienced and competent in all cardiac ultrasound imaging procedures.
  • Must pursue registry status within 1 year of hiring.
  • Must maintain registry status, once achieved, by meeting continuing education requirements.
  • Must continually strive to further professional knowledge and use this as a basis for making quality decisions when imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Performs 2-D, M-Mode, color flow mapping, Doppler studies, Tissue Doppler, Strain imaging, echo stress testing and transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Prepares patients for exams and prepares echo studies for physician review.
  • Operates PACS viewing station and participates in after-hours calls.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of imaging data and reports.
