Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services seeks a Sonographer - Echo Cardiac Ultrasound to perform echocardiography procedures and support pediatric to geriatric patients. This position requires RDCS or equivalent, ongoing cardiology education, and expertise with ultrasound and telemedicine equipment to ensure high-quality patient care across the department.

Qualifications

  • Registered cardiac sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent certification required
  • Annual continuing education in Cardiology procedures required
  • Graduate of accredited ultrasound program or NMMC Echo Internship includes cardiac ultrasound training

Responsibilities

  • Train new personnel in echocardiography.
  • Conduct/in-service training classes for staff.
  • Perform echocardiography procedures (M-mode, 2D, Doppler, stress echo, TEE support).
  • Chart, file, and charge echocardiography procedures; manage scheduling as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of echocardiography supplies.
  • Participate in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities.
