Responsibilities

• Participates in the assessment of children and the development of age-appropriate activities.
• Plans and maintains schedules and routines.
• Participates in daily observation and evaluation of children with documentation.
• Uses observations and checklists to support the lead teacher in planning and assessment.
• Prepares for conferences with parents in the fall, winter, and spring and fills in when the lead teacher is absent.
• Maintains a safe, clean, healthy and organized environment per CACFP and ADHS guidelines.
• Supervises children by sight and sound inside and outside the classroom.
• Ensures staff follows CACFP guidelines for meal service timing and portions.
• Maintains communication with parents, children, and coworkers.
• Encourages language development and positive interaction throughout the day.
• Practices appropriate guidance and discipline per ADHS and NAEYC standards.
• Maintains attendance rosters from start to end of day and submits to the coordinator.
