Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Spring, Texas seeks a Registered Dietitian to provide high-quality medical nutrition therapy, assess nutritional needs, educate patients, and work as a resource to physicians and the care team.

You will participate in multidisciplinary rounds, develop individualized care plans, document in medical records, and support education for patients and families, with a focus on safety, compassion, and cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Food & Nutrition; Master's required if registration was obtained after Jan 1, 2024.
• Must be registered with the ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
• CPR certification (Heart Saver) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or obtained within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
• Establishes goals for nutrition care of patients, conducts assessments, and develops individualized nutrition care plans with ongoing evaluation of nutrition status.
• Provides medical nutrition therapy to patients and clients appropriate for their age.
• Modifies nutrition regimens according to food preferences, tolerances, and cultural/religious preferences.
• Documents nutrition care plans in the medical record, including nutrition assessment, monitoring parameters, goals and recommendations.
• Provides nutrition education to patients and/or families appropriate for age, religious beliefs, and cultural background.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
• Promotes professional growth, serves as preceptor/mentor, and supports department goals.

Job Summary

Position responsible for providing high quality medical nutrition therapy to patients and clients. Areas of responsibility include assessment of nutritional needs, provision of medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education. The incumbent is required to function on a multi-disciplinary team as a resource to the physician staff and others. May participate in community service by providing nutrition education to various groups or individuals outside the hospital.

Minimum Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications
