Job summary

SMG System Medical Group in Berkeley seeks an experienced clinician to coordinate and provide advanced nursing care for critically ill patients, guiding families and teams through complex management and invasive procedures. You will lead inpatient critical care rounds, develop individualized care plans, ensure adherence to protocols, and coordinate discharge planning with the care team.

Qualifications

• MSN from a CCNE-accredited program.
• National APRN certification.
• RN/APRN licensure or eligibility in West Virginia.
• BLS certification; additional advanced life support training as required.
• FCCS certification required immediately upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for ICU patients and families.
• Orders additional tests or consults per protocol to medically manage the patient.
• Performs, interprets and communicates results of diagnostic tests.
• Collaborates with Critical Care and inter-professional services regarding abnormal findings.
• Develops a comprehensive, individualized plan of care including discharge planning and referrals.
• Participates in physician/team rounds and coordinates care.
• Identifies unstable or complex patient situations and coordinates interventions.
• Maintains patient safety and uses equipment safely and effectively.
• Mentors nursing personnel and documents plans of care clearly and concisely.
• Ensures transition to next team when patient is ready to leave the ICU.
