Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation is seeking an Intensive Care Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced care within an ICU setting. You will collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes and educate patients and families on disease management and post‑ICU recovery.

The role emphasizes ventilator management, life support therapies, accurate documentation, and adherence to healthcare regulations in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN/DNP) or Physician Assistant with Acute Care specialization.
• Active NP or PA license in the state of practice.
• Board certification as ACNP, AGACNP, or PA.
• 2–3 years of experience in critical care preferred.
• Strong ventilator and advanced life support skills.
• Excellent communication and decision‑making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients.
• Diagnose and manage acute and life-threatening conditions including sepsis and respiratory failure.
• Develop and implement treatment plans including ventilator management and advanced life support interventions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as chest X‑rays, CTs, ABGs, echocardiograms.
• Perform procedures including central line placement, arterial line placements, intubation, chest tube insertion, lumbar punctures; Vascath, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Cardioversion.
