Job summary

The Ranch at Dove Tree in Lubbock, Texas is actively seeking a Counselor to provide treatment and support for clients recovering from addictions and related mental health issues. You will conduct assessments, participate in treatment planning, and deliver group, individual, or family counseling using evidence-based modalities.

Responsibilities include documentation, crisis intervention, aftercare planning, and coordination with insurers.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in social services, addiction, mental health, or closely related field.
• Valid licensure as social worker, professional counselor, therapist, or addiction counselor per state.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts client assessments to identify history, current presentation, problem areas, and treatment needs.
• Participates in and prepares client treatment planning and progress reviews.
• Conducts group counseling, individual or family sessions using evidence-based modalities.
• Provides client and family education regarding substance abuse and psychiatric issues.
• Ensures all documentation regarding client care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and clearly.
• Provides crisis intervention as needed and seeks appropriate consultation.
• Plans for and completes aftercare documentation for assigned clients.
• Acts as liaison with insurance carriers and provides case management as needed.
• Works with self-help groups and EAP professionals.

PRN Counselor - LCDC-I or LPC-A | The Ranch at Dove Tree | Lubbock, TexasAbout the Job:PURPOSE STATEMENT:The Counselor One provides treatment and support to assist clients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, or mental health disorders, assists with modifying problem behaviors; may also provide counseling services to families of clients.Muse have a LCDC-I or LPC-A to qualifyRoles and Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Conducts client assessments focused on identifying client history, current presentation, problem areas, ongoing clinical need for treatment and risk assessment.Conducts ongoing assessments of chemical dependence services required by the treatment program.Participates in and prepares client treatment planning and treatment plan progress reviews as assigned and documents as required.Conducts assigned group counseling, individual or family sessions and implements evidence-supported treatment modalities as assigned and documents as required.Provides client and family education relative to substance abuse/psychiatric problems.Ensures all documentation regarding client care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.Provides crisis intervention to clients, as needed, and seeks consultation as appropriate.Plans for and completes required documentation of aftercare for assigned clients.Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested.Provides case management duties for clients, ensuring individualized quality care.Conducts educational workshops both within the Hospital and in the community as required.Serves as a liaison with self-help groups and EAP professionals.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social services, addiction, mental health or closely related health services field.Degree must be from an accredited college or university.Professional experience is not required, but experience in counseling field instruction/internship or similar practicum training is preferred.LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:Must have current and valid licensure or certification as a social worker, professional counselor, therapist or addiction counselor per state agency, including entry level licenses as issued by the state.CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).First aid may be required based on state or facility.WORK LOCATION:This position is onsite and is not a remote position.SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:This position is an Individual Contributor.Why The Ranch at Dove Tree?The Ranch at Dove Tree offers a comprehensive benefit plan and a competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
