Job summary

The West Haven Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in West Haven, Connecticut is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation team PRN. You will work closely with licensed OTs to deliver high-quality care and support patients in regaining independence.

Responsibilities include assisting with treatment plans, using adaptive equipment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe transfers and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) program.
• Current COTA certification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing patient treatment plans, focusing on activities of daily living, cognitive, and sensory processing skills
• Use adaptive equipment and other assistive technologies to promote patient independence and safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and coordinate patient transfers
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress and treatment plans
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
