Job summary

San Joaquin Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) PRN to support residents in achieving independence. You will assist the OT, follow treatment plans, and document care in compliance with state requirements.

The position offers a competitive PRN pay rate of $42 per hour and a collaborative team environment. California licensure is required, with opportunities to train staff and participate in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Licensed COTA in California in good standing.
• Experience with therapy documentation systems (Casamba, PointClickCare).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow care plans, policies, and procedures.
• Must meet state CE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatments as directed by the OT.
• Follow physician treatment plans for each patient.
• Document daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification per OT/state requirements.
• Communicate patient progress with supervising OT and care team.
• Assist nursing staff in training Restorative Aides.
• Participate in facility in-service training programs.
• Provide caregiver and family education for discharge prep.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Maintain a safe, clean treatment area.
• Report equipment issues to ensure proper function.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents, families, and staff.
