Job summary

Capital Health Care Network seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide occupational therapy services under the direction of the OT. The COTA will implement planned services, delegated and supervised by the registered occupational therapist and per physician plan of care.

The role requires collaboration with the care team, adherence to documentation standards, and ongoing patient progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Certified with the National Certification Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Graduate of an accredited COTA program.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a certified occupational therapy assistant.
• Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
• Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the ongoing evaluation of patient’s functional status as delegated by the registered occupational therapist.
• Participates in teaching new skills or retraining patients in daily activities as delegated.
• Maintains clinical records and reports to the occupational therapist any changes in the patient’s condition.
• Submits clinical documentation in accordance with policy.
• Follows treatment program and documents patient progress and response to treatment.
• Maintains communication with other personnel involved in the patient’s care.
