Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) seeks a PRN RN II to provide nursing care within the Lancaster County Detention Center. The role directs team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary staff to deliver patient-centered care under correctional facility protocols.

The ideal candidate has a BSN preferred and at least one year of RN experience with active SC RN licensure and BLS certification. This PRN position offers 8 hours per week in a secure setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing preferred; RN staff hired after July 1, 2013 must enroll in BSN within two years and complete within four years.
• Minimum one year of RN experience required.
• Licensure as an RN by SC Board of Nursing or a compact state; current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Direct and lead assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff.
• Deliver patient-centered care addressing physical, emotional, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
• Follow correctional safety and security protocols and document care per medical records requirements.
