Job summary

MEDIKO is seeking a PRN nurse for Athens, GA at the Athens Clarke County Jail. Provide direct patient care, screenings, and ongoing treatment under physician direction. Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, coordinating with physicians, and educating patients on health topics. Requires valid licensure, CPR/BLS, and 1–3 years in healthcare; benefits offered with a competitive hourly

Qualifications

• A current, valid state licensure to practice (RN, LPN, CMA, LMHP, etc.).
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, monitoring vital signs, and administering prescribed treatments.
• Conduct initial medical screenings upon entry and provide ongoing care during stay.
• Assist with sick call assessments and respond to patient health concerns.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records per policies and regulations.
• Ensure treatments and medications are stored and handled properly.
