Job summary

The Greens at Erwin in Erwin, TN is seeking a dependable PRN Cook to join our dietary team. This role involves preparing nutritious meals, following recipes, and supporting residents' dietary needs in a caring environment.

You will work a 5:00 AM – 5:45 PM shift on a rotating schedule, contributing to a positive dining experience and resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, long-term care, food service, or restaurant settings preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus and dietary instructions.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Dependable and punctual.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious, quality meals according to menus and resident dietary needs.
• Follow recipes, portion control guidelines, and food preparation standards.
• Accommodate special diets, preferences, and texture modifications as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
• Monitor food temperatures and quality throughout preparation and service.
• Assist with inventory, storage, and supply rotation.
• Work with dietary staff and other departments for timely meal service.
• Help create a positive dining experience for residents.
