Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, seeks a compassionate CNA to provide patient-centered care at our Pinellas County Care Center on a PRN dayshift (7:45 am to 8:15 pm). You will deliver essential comfort under a licensed nurse, with flexibility to work at various locations.

Responsibilities include following the Hospice Aide Plan of Care, reporting changes promptly, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Florida Board of Nursing CNA certification
• CPR certification from a recognised agency (American Red Cross or American Heart Association) preferred
• Valid Florida driver's license may be required for travel between facilities if assigned

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Follow Hospice Aide Plan of Care for personal care tasks.
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition to the nurse.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect patient/family privacy.
• Adhere to scope of practice and organization policies

Job description

Suncoast Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated CNA to provide patient care at our Care Center in Pinellas County on the following schedule: PRN dayshift 7:45 am to 8:15pm.

The CNA delivers quality, patient-centered care under the direction of a licensed nurse, while monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition. This role requires flexibility to work at various locations and be reassigned based on business needs.

What you’ll Do

• Supports and carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values on a consistent basis.
• Performs only those personal care/home maintenance activities contained in a written assignment (Hospice Aide Plan of Care) by a health professional employee.
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions, incidents or behavior of a patient and/or patient/family interaction to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.
• Recognizes the role of the Hospice Aide and works within that scope of practice at all times.
• Maintains utmost respect for confidentiality in care of the patient/family.

What You’ll Need

• Valid Florida Board of Nursing certification (CNA License).
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License
• This is only required if colleague chooses driving herself/himself as mode of transportation when reassigned to work at another facility. This is not a requirement if the colleague chooses an alternative means of transportation when reassigned to another facility based on business needs. Regardless of the mode chosen, both are at the colleague’s own expense, with the exception of mileage reimbursement eligibility when traveling between facilities while on company time.
• One to Three Years of training and/or experience required.
• One year of experience in a long term care facility strongly preferred.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
