Job summary

Saint Luke's South Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. This role performs medical laboratory testing in a CLIA-certified laboratory and reports results to the LIS/EMR with accuracy and timeliness.

The MLS may assess competency of MLS/MLT personnel after one year of experience and participates in quality improvement initiatives. New graduates must pass the ASCP registry within 9 months of hire; certification can be through ASCP or AMT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science required.
• New graduate must pass ASCP registry within 9 months of hire.
• CLS-MLS certification through ASCP or AMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical laboratory testing in a CLIA-certified laboratory.
• Report results accurately and timely to LIS/EMR.
• Assess competency of MLS and MLT personnel after one year of experience.
• Maintain instrumentation and QC procedures.
