Job summary

Saint Luke's South Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team. The MLS will perform testing in a CLIA-certified lab, report results accurately and timely, and assess competency of MLS/MLT personnel after one year of experience.

New grads must pass ASCP registry within 9 months of hire, with MLS certification available through ASCP or AMT. The position requires 3 twelve-hour shifts (0700-1930) on weekdays with every third weekend, and a strong focus on quality control and

Responsibilities

• Performs medical laboratory testing in a CLIA-certified laboratory; ensures accuracy and timely reporting of results.
• Reports results to LIS/EMR as ordered by providers.
• Reviews and approves quality control results; maintains instrumentation and performance.
• Participates in quality metrics and Laboratory Performance Improvement Plan; assesses MLS/MLT competency after one year.
