Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated Chaplain to provide compassionate spiritual care to patients and families. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, assess spiritual resources, and support coping strategies in diverse settings across the hospital system.

The role requires empathy, crisis-capable communication, and compliance with professional ethics. A CPE background plus ordination/licensure is expected; on-call duties may apply depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required; two units preferred.
• Ordained, licensed, or commissioned to function in a religious vocation; endorsement or good standing from faith group required.
• Two years of equivalent chaplain experience may be considered depending on facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to patients/residents and families as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Document spiritual care visits in the electronic health record.
• Respond to spiritual care referrals and consultations in a timely manner.
