Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be ordained, licensed or commissioned to function in a religious vocation by an appropriate religious authority.
• Completion of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or certification as a chaplain is preferred.
• Active member in good standing of a Christian denomination per the Good Samaritan Society description.
• Pastoral experience and hospice/grief training are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to patients and families per the plan of care.
• Complete spiritual needs assessments at admission and during care.
• Coordinate with patient, family and interdisciplinary team to review and revise the plan of care.
• Provide sacraments and coordinate sacramental ministries.
• Educate internal and external healthcare groups on spiritual care responsibilities.
• Network with community clergy and faith leaders as needed.
• Maintain documentation per policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
