Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II - Certified for a PRN role with rotating shifts to support safe medication preparation, dispensing, and medication management in hospital settings.

The incumbent will assist pharmacists, prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds, manage inventory, maintain records, and provide excellent service to patients and staff while following USP guidelines and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

0-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital or healthcare setting required

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists with preparation, compounding, labeling, and dispensing of medications per hospital policies.
Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications using aseptic techniques per USP guidelines.
Conduct inventory management activities, monitor stock levels, order supplies, and perform regular audits.
Maintain accurate records of medication dispensing, inventory transactions, and controlled substances per regulatory standards.
Participate in quality assurance initiatives to ensure patient safety and proper pharmacy operations.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions from patients, nurses, and staff about medications and services.
Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing systems, and troubleshoot issues.
Support pharmacists in medication reviews and history reconciliation as required.
Adhere to safety protocols and infection control guidelines in the pharmacy environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
Complies with all policies and standards.
