Townsen Memorial Hospital is looking for a PRN Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at our Humble, TX location!

SUMMARY:

The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for admitting patients to the clinical area, providing nursing care to pre-operative patients, and developing individualized nursing care plans. The staffing approach is based on teamwork, and employees may be cross-trained in other clinical areas, performing duties beyond their usual responsibilities as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Ensure supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly.
2. Assist with patient admission and preparation for scheduled procedures.
3. Complete patient care responsibilities accurately and in a timely manner, including documentation.
4. Implement doctor’s orders promptly and accurately.
5. Educate patients and their families.
6. Provide emotional support to patients and families as needed.
7. Document patient care delivered in the medical record accurately.
8. Adhere to Center/Departmental policies and procedures.
9. Maintain confidentiality of patient and Center-related information.
10. Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, visitors, and staff.
11. Record information concisely, precisely, and accurately as per policy.
12. Participate in Quality Assessment activities to improve patient care and Center operations.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Practice nursing within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act of Texas, accepting responsibility and accountability.
• Knowledge of vital sign monitor operation.
• Basic understanding of nursing diagnoses.
• Knowledge of Principles of Standard Precautions.
• Understanding of nursing care for post-surgical patients.
• Effective communication skills for collaborative nursing practice.
• Ability to adapt to unexpected changes and various work schedules to ensure high-quality care.
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition.
• Use structured communication formats with patients and families.
• Respond positively to team members' requests for assistance.
• Comply with facility policies and continuing education requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduation from an accredited school with CNA certification.
• At least one (1) year of clinical experience.
