Job summary

Waco Family Medicine is seeking a PRN Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support providers with patient assessments, vital signs, and care documentation in a busy clinic setting. The role includes administering medications as ordered, performing tests such as EKGs and spirometry, and assisting with minor procedures while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Requirements include a CMA certification, CPR, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of an accredited medical assisting

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program and externship.
• CMA certification from AAMA or equivalent.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with patient assessments, vital signs and documentation.
• Administer medications per provider orders (oral, IM, IV, subcutaneous), document effects.
• Perform diagnostic tests (EKG, spirometry, vision/hearing, throat cultures, NSTs, bladder scans).
• Prepare exam rooms, assist in minor procedures and transitions in care as needed.
