Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completed an accredited medical assisting program and externship.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
• CPR certification.
• 1 year of prior experience in medical assisting or similar role.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with initial patient assessments, vital signs, and procedures.
• Administer medications per provider orders (oral, IM, IV, subcutaneous, intradermal) and document effects.
• Document care and manage messages, MyChart, and encounters in the EHR.
• Perform diagnostic tests and patient treatments (EKG, spirometry, venipuncture, nebulization, dressing changes, etc.).
• Coordinate referrals and appointments with specialists; document details in medical records.
• Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and handle confidentiality of patient information.
