Novant Health Urgent Care is seeking a PRN Certified Medical Assistant for the North Augusta center. You will take vitals, prepare patients for visits, and enter data into the EMR. You may assist at the front desk with calls, demographics, and patient service.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, lab testing, medication administration as delegated, and ensuring rooms and equipment are ready. Occasional coverage at other clinics within the region may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• Current CMA or RMA certification.
• Basic medical terminology and HIPAA/OSHA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Record vitals and prepare patients for physician visits.
• Document information into the EMR system and assist at front desk.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic tests.
• Administer medications as delegated by clinician.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient rooms and equipment.

What Are We Looking For?

NHUC is currently looking for a is currently looking for a medical assistant to join our team who will prepare patients for their physician visit. MA’s prepare patients by taking vitals, documents vital information from patient into EMR system. They also assist with patient services duties at the front desk taking phone calls, updating patient demographics and offering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collects patient demographics, medical history, prescription and pharmacy information and records it for the provider.
• Recognizes patient distress and notifies the provider accordingly.
• Collect laboratory specimens including phlebotomy
• Performs laboratory tests
• Performs data collection and testing for occupational health clients
• Prepares and administer medications as delegated by a physician, physician assistant and nurse practitioner.
• Exhibits professional behavior and provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers at all times.
• Operates general office equipment such as personal computer, copier, fax machine, etc.
• Ability to effectively utilize EMR software.
• Supports provider by performing excellent patient care through effective communication.
• Ensure all patient rooms and equipment are in working condition.
• Provides coverage at other clinic locations within the region as requested and/or needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
