Job summary

Garden Estates of Tyler is seeking a dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care for residents in long-term or rehabilitative care, under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, reporting observations, and supporting care plans.

Must have high school diploma and Nursing Assistant certification, CPR/First Aid, and English proficiency. Benefits include 401(k) and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Nursing Assistant certification preferred/required.
• CPR certification and First Aid training are required.
• Experience with the elderly is desirable.
• Must read, speak, and write English.
• Certification in Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily routines and personal care.
• Report observations and pertinent information to the supervisor.
• Support care plans and review daily care changes.
• Contribute to standards of care and participate in staff education needs.
• Maintain professional conduct per facility policies.
• Ensure rooms and linens are cleaned and organized daily.
• Assist with activity participation and documentation of resident participation.
• Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests.
• Assist with meals and dining area cleanliness as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.

Job description

Summary of Responsibility

Provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.

Duties

1. Assists the resident in any daily routines, any personal care and housekeeping tasks that the resident needs assistance in performing.
2. Reports observations and other pertinent information related to the care of the resident.
3. Provides services that support the care delivered to the resident and daily review care plans to determine ID changes in the daily care routine have been made.
4. Provides input in the formulation and evaluation of standards of care.
5. Participates in the identification of staff educational needs.
6. Conducts self in a professional manner in compliance with unit facility policies.
7. Surveys for safety and picks up resident’s room each day. Removes all soiled linens from rooms. Bed linens, towels and wash cloths are to be changed once a week or as necessary.
8. Assists with Activity Participation including encouragement of residents to participate, leading and performing activity programs, and documentation of residents participation.
9. Ensures that all resident call lights are promptly answered, followed by appropriate responses to requests.
10. Assists with dietary responsibilities, including serving meals and cleaning meal area, as needed.
11. Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or the Executive Director.

Education and Experience

1. Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
2. Previous Nursing Assistant experience or student nurse preferred.
3. Completion of certification program for Nursing Assistants preferred.
4. Experience working with the elderly is desirable.
5. Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
6. Must be certified in C.P.R., first aid training and documentation of Personal Hygiene training with nurse instructor.
