An established healthcare provider is seeking a skilled Sonographer to perform critical imaging procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High School Diploma or EquivalentANDOne year of Sonography experienceANDMust ObtainOneof the Appropriate Certifications within Two years of Hire;ORRecent Graduate of a Cardiac Ultrasound ProgramANDMust obtainOneof the Appropriate Certifications within One year of Hire.
Appropriate Certification Includes: Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
1. One year of experience in a certified echocardiography laboratory or vascular laboratory preferred.
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.
1. If certified in Cardiac: Performs all non-invasive imaging procedures in Cardiac Graphics including, but not limited to echocardiograms, TEE's, TTE's, stress echo, structure heart program imaging, etc.
If certified in Vascular: Performs all non-invasive imaging procedures in Vascular Laboratories including, but limited to upper/lower venous duplexes, arterial duplexes, dialysis graphs, venous insufficiencies, pulse volume recordings, ankle brachial index, etc.
2. Performs proper billing of procedures and prioritize patient scheduling.
3. Coordinates and prioritizes patient scheduling in order to insure procedure completion in a timely fashion.
4. Prior to testing, obtains information for specific procedures to be performed, answer pertinent questions to patients concerning procedures and are courteous to patients and their families 100% of the time.
5. Performs all non-invasive imaging procedures within established guidelines and timeframes.
6. Notifies appropriate medical staff if images appear to variate from normal images as appropriate.
7. Documents procedure performed within patient chart to inform the physician that the test has been completed.
8. Calculates and measures cardiovascular structures from procedure data in order to aid the physician in interpreting results and achieving a diagnosis.
9. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the equipment, procedure rooms and work areas of the Cardiac Graphics and Vascular Laboratories.
10. Completes accurate documentation to ensure proper billing.
