Job summary

VHC Health in Arlington, VA, seeks a Cardiac, Vascular and Thoracic (CVT) Surgeon to provide on-call, weeknight and weekend coverage. The role focuses on urgent and emergent cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures with a patient‑centered approach.

The ideal candidate is board eligible or board certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery, holds an MD or DO, and is licensed or eligible for Virginia; EPIC EMR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree is required.
• Virginia license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery with fellowship training.
• Board certification or eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• EPIC EMR familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call, as-needed coverage for CVT surgery services.
• Manage inpatient cases with focus on post-operative care.
• Perform cardiac and thoracic surgeries, including urgent/emergent cases.
• Maintain a high standard of care in all interactions and procedures.
• Collaborate with mid-level providers for patient care support.
