Job summary

Inova Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer 2 for a PRN role at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital in Northern Virginia. The position involves high-quality cardiac imaging, collaboration with physicians, and adherence to safety and QA standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in diagnostic medical sonography or five years of hospital-based training.
• ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS for Echo, or ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS for vascular certification.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association).
• One year of post-registration experience in cardiac or vascular sonography settings.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to recognize clinical or emergent issues affecting exams and communicates with physicians to ensure proper use.
• Maintains proper technique for IV contrast or enhancing solutions and ensures proper supplies for procedures.
• Verifies patient identity and orders with high accuracy; maintains credential status through ongoing education; attends QA conferences.
• Ensures patient safety and aseptic cleaning of equipment; reports and corrects adverse conditions using the tracking system.
