Job summary

Responsibilities

• Store and distribute medications according to procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and complete required training to maintain certifications.
• Provide ADL assistance as needed.

Overview

Jill’s House is a Christian non‑profit organization and auxiliary ministry of McLean Bible Church dedicated to supporting families raising children ages 6–17 with intellectual disabilities. We provide short‑term, overnight respite care and holistic family support services. All families are welcomed regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or any other characteristic, and we operate in accordance with Biblical principles.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Camp Nurse to work weekends (Friday evening to Sunday afternoon) ensuring the safety and health of campers. The nurse will work under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, oversee medical care for an average of 10 campers, anticipate and respond to medical or nursing issues, and assist with activities such as hiking, low‑rope courses, hayrides, craft time, and s'mores.

General Duties

• Administer medication and attend to injuries, handling all medical emergencies under the guidance of the Nursing Manager.
• Prepare and maintain medical files, including check‑in and MARS documentation.
• Collect and secure medication and approved medical devices from parents or legal guardians, and manage distribution and use approvals.
• Store and distribute medication in accordance with Jill’s House policies and procedures.
• Attend staff meetings, assist with staff training on medical care of children, and complete required training to maintain professional certifications.
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing school and hold a current, active, unrestricted RN or LPN license in New Jersey; BSN preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in pediatric or intellectual disability/ developmental delay settings.
