Job summary

Omnicell, Inc. in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 to support XR2 or IVX automation at a customer hospital site.

This on-call role covers call-outs, PTO, LOAs, and peak operating needs while ensuring safe, efficient medication automation that lets pharmacy teams focus on patient care. You will operate XR2/IVX systems, manage inventory, perform routine inspections and basic troubleshooting, document activities, and maintain compliance with Pharmacy Services

Qualifications

• Active OH pharmacy technician license/registration
• Active national certification (PTCB/CPhT/EXCPT)
• Experience with pharmacy automation systems
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Operate XR2/IVX automation per SOPs and best practices
• Manage medication inventory, restocking, returns, and formulary accuracy
• Perform routine equipment inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
• Monitor system performance and escalate unresolved issues
• Maintain documentation and compliance with Pharmacy Services policies
• Communicate with pharmacy leadership and customers to resolve issues
• Serve as SME for Omnicell team members and participate in training
• Maintain required certifications and credentials

PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (On Call) - CIN OH

Omnicell is seeking a PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (On Call) to support our XR2 or IVX automation system at a customer hospital site. This on-call role provides coverage for call‑outs, PTO, LOAs, and peak operational needs while supporting safe, efficient medication automation that enables pharmacy teams to focus on patient care.

What You'll Do

• Operate and support Omnicell XR2 or IVX automation in accordance with SOPs and best practices
• Manage medication inventory, restocking, returns, and formulary accuracy
• Perform routine equipment inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
• Monitor system performance and elevate unresolved issues to TAC or the appropriate helpdesk
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with Pharmacy Services policies
• Communicate proactively with pharmacy leadership and customers to resolve issues
• Serve as a subject matter resource for Omnicell team members as needed
• Participate in training and maintain all required certifications and credentials

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Active State Board of Pharmacy Technician License/Registration for the state of OH
• Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB / CPhT / EXCPT)
• Working knowledge of pharmacy automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program
• 2+ years of hospital pharmacy automation experience
• 1+ years of IV / Sterile Compounding
• Experience supporting automation troubleshooting and IV workflows

Skills & Attributes

• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with mechanical equipment and computer systems
• Proficiency with Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Schedule & Work Conditions

• PRN / On-Call (as needed), this role support Call-Outs, Vacation, LOA, etc.
• Coverage primarily (subject to change): TBD (mostly 1st or 2nd)
• Ability to support various CIN OH Client Site(s)
• This role will be good match if you are currently on a 7 on / 7 off work schedule, looking for PRN or part-time work only, etc.
• 8-10‑hour shifts; hours may extend beyond normal business needs
• Ability to Travel for training
• Pharmacy environment with potential exposure to hazardous drugs
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs
