Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a PRN Outreach Athletic Trainer to support community, school, and sporting events in the Treasure Valley. The role is primarily nights and weekends with flexible scheduling and as-needed coverage.

The position involves identifying injury sources, designing rehab, educating on prevention, and coordinating care with physicians. Licensure in Idaho or Oregon and BLS certification are required; travel to multiple locations may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Licensure in Primary state Idaho or Oregon; Idaho license as Athletic Trainer or provisional license acceptable for 120 days.
• Secondary state licensure (Idaho or Oregon) required within 120 days from hire.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required at hire if not already ACLS/PALS certified.

Responsibilities

• Prep student-athletes for practice or competition.
• Assess and treat athletes for injuries sustained during participation.
• Coordinate with physicians for higher medical care when needed.
• Evaluate injuries and determine safe return to activity.
• Manage concussions and follow return-to-play protocol.
