Job summary

Moffitt in Tampa, FL is seeking an APRN or PA-C to join the Perioperative Services/Pre-Anesthesia Testing team. This onsite role supports patient care through evaluation, management and planning within a defined scope of practice and protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree minimum; master's degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Advanced Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant program.
• Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one) and certification by the appropriate accreditation body.
• Active BLS.
• Experience in oncology or general internal medicine; area specific experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as a member of an interdisciplinary team, coordinating care with multiple specialists.
• Assists with evaluation, management and treatment of a wide spectrum of medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities.
• Performs minor surgical procedures within scope of practice when appropriate.
• Prescribes oral and IV medications within scope of practice.
• Documents patient care in accordance with medical staff rules.
