Job summary

Bell & Associates, Inc. is engaged to identify our client's first Chief Financial Officer for a single-family office with substantial assets under management in the Joplin area.

The CFO will build and oversee accounting, finance, tax, treasury, reporting, budgeting, controls, and operations across trusts, partnerships, foundations, investment vehicles, and related holdings. The ideal candidate brings both deep technical accounting expertise and hands-on leadership, capable of driving disciplined

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, mentor, and hold accountable the accounting, tax, and finance team; establish clear roles, deadlines, quality standards, and escalation protocols.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across family entities, trusts, partnerships, foundations, investment vehicles, real estate holdings, and related companies.
• Drive timely, accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with clear ownership and measurable deadlines.
• Review complex reconciliations, intercompany activity, allocations, investment accounting entries, capital activity, and entity-level reporting packages.
• Develop and document accounting policies, approval workflows, control procedures, and standard operating processes.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
