IMA Private Wealth is offering a 2027 summer Wealth Management Internship designed to immerse you in client-focused culture. You will work with financial planners, gain hands-on exposure to comprehensive financial planning, and contribute to real client projects under supervision.
You will develop skills across investments, retirement, tax, and estate planning through guided projects, meetings, and department-specific work.
Interns at IMA are a big deal! We understand how significant your decision on where to spend an internship is and what a positive experience can do to catapult your career. The best experiences provide true immersion in a company's culture, access to and networking with senior leaders and industry experts, opportunities to apply what you learn through real work that drives real results, and a fun and engaging cohort to share the experience with!
With this in mind, we've crafted our program to allow you to engage directly in our values-driven culture through company, department, and cohort events, all while being challenged with a blend of learning programs, informative networking sessions with IMA associates, and opportunities to engage in department-specific work projects that have real-world impact for our clients, our business, and our associates.
As an intern, your time will be divided between a core program shared with the entire cohort and specialized work, projects, and programming tailored to the department you join.
The IMA Private Wealth team is excited to welcome a Wealth Management Intern to our 2027 summer program! You'll work alongside financial planners and advisors, gain hands‑on exposure to comprehensive financial planning, and help prepare materials that support our clients' financial goals. Through guided projects and participation in the planning process, you'll build practical knowledge across investments, retirement, tax, and estate planning.
We're proud of the success many of our former interns have had when they've pursued careers as IMA associates after graduation and see our internship program as a key talent pipeline. Because of this, preference is given to students closer to graduation who demonstrate curiosity about future employment in wealth management and financial planning.
This internship is designed as a learning and development opportunity and does not include participation in the medical, dental, and vision insurance, and any other benefits program that are provided solely to regular full‑time associates. You will, however, enjoy IMA paid holidays and five days of LifeBalance PTO during your internship. The LifeBalance PTO is inclusive of vacation, sick time or personal time.
This position is classified as nonexempt and is paid on an hourly basis. The hourly pay range for IMA interns is 18.00 to 22.00 dollars and is determined by your expected graduating year. You will be paid for all hours worked and will be eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
