Job summary

IMA Financial Group, Inc. invites interns to join our Salt Lake City office for a 2027 summer program. The role blends core program participation with department-specific work, in a value-driven culture with senior leadership access.

Interns work five days in-office each week, gaining real-world experience, networking, and exposure to sales, client service, and business development activities. Preference given to near-graduation students.

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergrad or graduate degree related to host departments (Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management and Insurance).
• Interest in insurance roles; involvement in insurance clubs or Gamma Iota Sigma.
• Graduating Spring 2027, Dec 2027, or Spring 2028.
• Prior work/internship in professional services or similar environment.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with problem-solving and creative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Support production efforts by quoting new clients and preparing proposals.
• Contribute to coverage summaries, historical loss reviews, and benchmarking analyses.
• Assist with data analytics and learning across key insurance processes.
• Attend sales calls, licensing prep, and observe client relationship practices.
• Support renewals, meetings, and on-site visits to understand client needs.

As an intern, your time will be divided between a core program shared with the entire cohort and specialized work, projects, and programming tailored to the department you join.

The IMA Sales team is excited to announce an incredible opportunity for an intern in our 2027 summer program! This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience at the Salt Lake City office, under a standard 5 days in-office work week.

Daily responsibilities will include:

• Support production efforts by assisting with quoting new clients, preparing proposals, and contributing to coverage summaries, historical loss reviews, and benchmarking analyses.
• Strengthen client servicing operations through hands-on work with service teams, including data analytics support and foundational learning across key insurance processes.
• Bui ld core industry knowledge by attending numerous sales calls, engaging in licensing preparation, and observing best practices in client relationship management.
• Collaborate with producers during client renewals, participating in meetings and on-site visits to understand renewal strategy and client needs.
• Assist with business development and client engagement by supporting tournaments, events, and client get-togethers to foster strong professional relationships.

Because of this, preference is given to students closer to graduation, who demonstrate a curiosity about future employment within our industry.

You Should Have:

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in a program related to one of our host departments (Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management and Insurance)
• Interest in insurance-related roles; involvement in insurance clubs or Gamma Iota Sigma
• Students anticipated to graduate in Spring 2027, December 2027, or Spring 2028
• Previous work or internship experience in a professional services or similar environment
• An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to problem-solve, think critically, and provide creative solutions

Benefits:

This internship is designed as a learning and development opportunity and does not include participation in the medical, dental, and vision insurance, and any other benefits program that are provided solely to regular full-time associates. You will, however, enjoy IMA paid holidays and five days of LifeBalance PTO during your internship. The LifeBalance PTO is inclusive of vacation, sick time or personal time.

Compensation:

This position is classified as nonexempt and is paid on an hourly basis. The hourly pay range for IMA interns is 18.00 to 22.00 dollars and is determined by your expected graduating year. You will be paid for all hours worked and will be eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
