Location: private school in Newtown, Bucks County

Extended School Year: 210 school days (including paid in-service days, holidays, and breaks!)

Student Population: K-12+ (ages 6-21) with Autism

Responsibilities
  • Be the heartbeat of our classrooms, working with Special Education Teachers and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to cultivate a nurturing and joyful learning space.
  • Use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to create meaningful connections, guiding students through their personalized Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Focus on academic, behavioral, and leisure activities, to enhance each student's quality of life.
  • Arrive before the school day to ensure a seamless start, meticulously preparing materials and staying informed on any IEP adjustments.
  • Follow a unique individualized model that encourages students with autism to break free from rigid routines, striking a balance between freedom and structure.
  • Benefit from invaluable professional growth opportunities, including constructive feedback and collaborative training.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Reliable transportation to our school in Newtown, Bucks County
  • Due to some clients displaying behavior that is aggressive towards others, employees must be able to implement safe crisis management techniques when necessary, including sustained physical exertion and no disability or condition that would prevent participation in safe crisis techniques such as:
    • Standing and kneeling movements to and from the floor
    • Supporting a student's body weight (must be able to lift 15-50 lbs)
    • Can move quickly, bend up and down, and sit and stand for periods of time
