Job summary

Illuminus in Watertown, WI is seeking a Private Pay Billing Specialist to manage authorizations, timely release of claims, and collections on private pay accounts onsite.

You will handle daily billing, aging calls, posting charges and payments, and support the Finance team with month-end reporting. A two-year associate degree and two years of healthcare AR experience are required, plus strong MS Office skills and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree required.
• Two years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets.
• Typing and filing abilities; ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to adapt to change and exercise independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective communication with individuals and promote a positive image.
• Process daily deposits and update cash balance logs.
• Manage resident census, admissions/discharges, and payer changes; generate monthly census reports.
• Track and follow up on outstanding private pay balances.
• Handle monthly billing and follow-up on outstanding claims.
• Submit required month-end reports as needed.
• Manage, account for, and disburse resident funds.
• Keep Finance apprised of payment issues and aging calls.
• Track claims through clearinghouse and verify transmissions.
• Post ancillary charges and payments.
• Submit authorizations timely to prevent billing issues.
• On-call and other duties as assigned.

Illuminus is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent collaboration and organizational skills to join our team as a Private Pay Billing Specialist In this role, you will responsible for obtaining authorization, timely and accurate release of claims and managing collections on private pay accounts.

This position is located in Watertown, WI and is onsite 100%.

Summary

• Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
• Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
• Completes daily deposits and updates cash balance logs.
• Maintains resident census including admissions, discharges, status and payer changes and maintaining monthly census reports.
• Tracks and follows up on outstanding private pay balances in accordance with facility policies.
• Participates in weekly billing meetings.
• Responsible for monthly billing and follow-up on outstanding claims.
• Submits required month end reports as needed.
• Responsible for managing, accounting for, and disbursing resident funds.
• Keeps Finance department management appraised of payment issues.
• Participates in Aging calls and keeps Finance department management appraised of expected payment issues.
• Tracks claims through clearinghouse and verify successful transmission.
• Posts ancillary charges and payments.
• Submits authorizations timely to prevent billing issues.
• Maintains positive attitude and approach to ever-changing work environment.
• Responsible for on-call and performs other duties, as assigned.

Requirements
