Job description

Zurich is currently looking for a Private/Non-Profit Management Liability Associate Underwriting Manager to join our Midwest team out of our Minneapolis (Edina), St. Louis, or Kansas City (Overland Park) office.

In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting and managing a portfolio of management liability risks for private and non-profit organizations specifically focusing on Directors and Officers (D&O) Liability, Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Fiduciary Liability, and Crime insurance.

You will handle insureds ranging from small, and middle market businesses to large, complex organizations. You will work closely with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored insurance solutions that meet our clients' needs. This is a market facing position and you expected to visible in the marketplace 25% of the time.

The Management Liability Underwriting Manager is responsible for:

  • Underwrite and manage a portfolio of management liability risks for private and non-profit businesses.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies and initiatives.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities and work to expand Zurich’s portfolio.
  • Complying with underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules
  • Evaluation, professional development, training and coaching of underwriters.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
    AND
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • CPCU
  • Advanced knowledge of product lines and insurance industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent skills in relationship building
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Results oriented

The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is 136,000.00 - $181,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
