Job summary

Pinnacle Group in the Chicago area seeks an Associate or Vice President to join a lean investment team focused on due diligence of both new and existing investments. The role centers on evaluating private equity and co-investments, and supporting portfolio management activities.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of work experience in private equity, co-investments, or other allocator experience at an LP
• Genuine passion for investing and portfolio management interest
• Ability to deliver high-quality work in a timely fashion with limited supervisory oversight
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-confident with collaboration and teamwork
• Superior math skills; excellent quantitative and analytical abilities
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills to interface with external providers and investment team
• Experience with MS Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; exposure to Bloomberg, Burgiss, Caissa preferred
• Willingness to work in office 5 days per week

Responsibilities

• Works with the investment team to manage a large institutional investment portfolio with significant exposure to alternative investments
• Assist in the preparation of portfolio accounting, including investment performance, asset allocation and risk reports
• Assist in capital markets research and developing asset allocation recommendations
• Research and conduct due diligence on investment managers, co-investments and investment strategies with senior team members
• Develop and maintain financial models for analyzing the investment portfolio and its risk and cash flow profiles
• Closely monitor financial press and track market trends, opportunities, risks and new investment products
