Job summary

Cerity Partners is seeking a Private Markets Associate to work across private markets asset classes—private equity, private credit and real assets—joining an office with a hybrid work policy that strongly encourages office presence. The candidate should have 3–5 years of private markets research experience, a Bachelor's degree, and MBA or CFA/CAIA preferred.

Job description

Position Summary:

CPIC is in search of a Private Markets Associate to be focused across private markets asset classes (private equity, private credit and real assets), to join one of our offices, preferably in San Francisco, CA or Pittsburgh, PA. Our office culture is one that values in-person collaboration and interaction. We have implemented a hybrid work policy that strongly encourages working from the office, as we believe it fosters a more collaborative and dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in private markets, principally covering private equity or private credit.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support manager due diligence, development of investment content, and Private market Consultants with client service relationships
• Provide support on drafting RFP responses by providing data, analyses, and written responses as directed by supervisors and independently
• Effectively present research findings and conclusions internally, and as needed to client staff and prospective clients
• Interact with managers and intermediaries to collect data, including special ad-hoc requests
• Proactive sourcing of investment opportunities
• Analyze data to reach, support, and present reasoned conclusions
• Draft presentations and written reports
• Summarize key data, findings, and conclusions

Required Qualifications:

• 3 - 5 years of experience in private markets research
• Bachelor's degree
• Master's degree in finance or MBA preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• CFA charter and/or CAIA
• Strong technical knowledge of the Microsoft Suite
• Familiarity with industry databases (e.g. Pitchbook), AI tools, and coding concepts

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation Range:

$90,000 - $120,000
