Job summary

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever seeks a Private Lands Conservationist II in Clarkston, Washington to support wildlife habitat conservation. The role partners with NRCS and local groups to promote enrollment in Farm Bill programs and habitat projects on private lands.

Responsibilities include technical wildlife habitat guidance, developing conservation plans, coordinating NRCS programs, and securing funding with partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management or related field
• Clear and effective communication with landowners and partners
• Independent work with little supervision
• Knowledge of wildlife ecology and habitat management tools
• Familiarity with USDA conservation programs and state agencies
• Experience with GIS, GPS, ARC Map, and MS Office
• Valid driver’s license and potential mileage reimbursement
• Ability to obtain USDA Federal Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Provide wildlife habitat technical assistance to landowners and partners
• Coordinate wildlife habitat implementation with NRCS and others
• Develop conservation plans and required NRCS documentation
• Communicate program requirements and determine eligibility via site visits
• Monitor habitats and assess management needs with landowners
• Seek funding opportunities to leverage NRCS programs
• Perform other related duties as assigned
