Job summary

5 Legal is seeking a Private Investment Funds Associate Attorney to join its Investment Management group in Chicago. You will work on structuring and forming private equity and venture capital funds, and negotiate with limited partners.

Experience with GP/management companies and real estate or hedge funds is a plus. Candidates should have solid academic credentials and at least 4 years of experience, with knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a private investment funds attorney.
• Experience structuring and forming private equity and venture capital funds.
• Experience negotiating with limited partners.
• Experience with GP/management company structures and with real estate funds and hedge funds is a plus.
• Experience with the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and related issues is ideal.

Experience in the structuring and formation of private equity funds or venture capital funds and negotiation with limited partners is required. Additional experience with structuring general partner and management companies as well as experience with real estate funds and/or hedge funds is also helpful. In addition, experience with the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and related issues, representing institutional investors in their investments into private investment funds and various other corporate and partnership matters is ideal.
