Job summary

Oak View Group is seeking an Event Sales Manager for catering and private events at the University of Kansas Social Club. You will secure corporate and social private event revenue, build relationships, and manage the booking process from sale to service with internal venue stakeholders.

The role offers a salary of $55,000–$65,000 per year with commission eligibility, plus benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with matching, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; business/hospitality preferred.
• 3-5 years in corporate sales or marketing with solid business acumen.
• Experience in hospitality sales in venues, hotels, or conventions is preferred.
• Strong communication, integrity, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Prospect new business via contacts, networking, and cold calls.
• Target local hospitality and corporate planners.
• Direct corporate decision makers to sell private events.
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to generate new private event revenue.
• Manage the full sales cycle from inquiry to contract and turnover to operations.
• Negotiate event details, pricing, and terms to protect venue revenue.
• Build long-term relationships for repeat business and multi-year contracts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless event execution.
• Deliver customized proposals, event packages, and pricing aligned with client goals.
• Conduct venue tours and client meetings highlighting amenities and selling points.
• Maintain a strong pipeline and consistent follow-up with prospects.
• Adapt to irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
