Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Controller within Asset Management. The role focuses on private product control, overseeing valuation oversight, independent price verification, and financial reporting for illiquid private investments across equity strategies.

Collaboration with Operations, Risk, Fund Accounting, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering is essential. The successful candidate will support monthly/quarterly close, prepare valuation materials, and interact with senior stakeholders across

Qualifications

At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor's Degree (Accounting, Economics or Finance degree preferred).
CPA or CFA preferred, but not required.
Prior experience with illiquid valuation or private equity/alternative investments is preferred.
Public and/or Private accounting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day reporting and month-end / quarter-end closing processes for the team.
Maintain books and records (PARA) of investment-related transactions and supporting documentation.
Handle P&L and balance sheet reporting; analyze drivers/trends in business performance.
Prepare valuation materials and sensitivity analyses for senior stakeholders.
Perform independent price verification (IPV) and reasonableness assessments with third-party valuations.
