GEM in Charlotte, NC seeks a mid-level investment professional to join the Investment Research Group, evaluating private equity funds and co-investments with independent sponsors and buyout managers.

The role requires 5+ years in PE, investment banking, or institutional investing, CFA preferred but not required, and offers opportunities to build networks and generate top quartile returns.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, or institutional investing with a track record of successful performance.
• Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance.
• CFA preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Grow and maintain a fresh pipeline of emerging private equity sponsors.
• Underwrite private equity sponsors, funded and independent sponsor constructs.
• Underwrite co-investment opportunities alongside GEM sponsors.
• Expand GEM's reputation as a leading LP in the small buyout ecosystem.
• Identify and underwrite secondary investment opportunities.
• Train and mentor junior investment professionals.
