Job summary

First Day Homecare is seeking a licensed RN to perform skilled nursing functions for pediatric private duty patients in locations across Michigan. You will follow physician orders, implement client care plans, and document all changes in the medical record.

A strong emphasis on safety, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to policies is essential. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, and specialized pediatric care such as tracheostomy and ventilator

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Schedule / Expected Work Hours

• Ann Arbor - 2 y/o client; day and night shifts are needed, 8-12-hour shifts
• Chelsea - 16 y/o looking for night staffing
• Ypsilanti - 2 y/o seeking Tuesday and Thursday day shifts to attend school
• Dexter - 4 y/o seeking overnight staffing

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Provides Supervision To: NA – No supervision responsibilities
