Job summary

Visiting Angels Lufkin is seeking a Private Duty Caregiver to provide compassionate in-home support for seniors across Deep East Texas. Responsibilities include medication assistance, mobility help, personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and companionship.

The role offers opportunities for advanced training in dementia care and flexible shifts: Full Time, Part Time, 8/10/12 hour options. Competitive pay and benefits available to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Must have passion to serve others and provide compassionate home care.
• Knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Experience with bathing assistance and incontinence care.
• Ability to transfer clients using hoyer lifts or gait belts.
• Ability to perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Respectful, compassionate, and reliable.
• 2 years of professional elderly care experience or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.

Private Duty Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (Transferring assistance using hoyer lifts or gait belts or walkers and wheelchairs.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (Bathing assistance and incontinence care)
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop (grocery shopping, salon, dr appointments)
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Private Duty Caregiver Requirements

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate
• Experience with Bathing assistance and incontinence care
• Experience with Transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt
• Strong ethics
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia
• 2 years professional experience with the elderly in a Facility or with an agency or have a CNA certification
