Visiting Angels in Lufkin, TX is seeking a Private Duty Caregiver to support seniors in Deep East Texas with light housekeeping, meal prep, mobility assistance, and transportation.

We offer training in dementia and Alzheimer's care, weekly pay, and a sign-on bonus; full-time or part-time shifts include 8, 10, and 12 hour options.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping and cooking with dietary awareness.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
• Experience with bathing assistance and incontinence care.
• Experience transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt.
• Strong ethics and integrity.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia.
• 2 years of elderly care experience or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the home or outside.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene tasks.
• Support clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Shop or accompany clients for shopping and appointments.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.

Private Duty Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (Transferring assistance using hoyer lifts or gait belts or walkers and wheelchairs.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (Bathing assistance and incontinence care)
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop (grocery shopping, salon, dr appointments)
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Private Duty Caregiver Requirements

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate
• Experience with Bathing assistance and incontinence care
• Experience with Transferring seniors using a hoyer lift or gait belt
• Strong ethics
• Knowledge of Alzheimer's and Dementia
• 2 years professional experience with the elderly in a Facility or with an agency or have a CNA certification
