Job summary

Visiting Angels Webster Groves is seeking compassionate Private Duty Caregivers to support local seniors in Webster Groves and surrounding areas, including Chesterfield and beyond.

You will provide companionship, assist with daily activities, and enable safe mobility while receiving advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care to grow your skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in home or elderly care preferred.
• Ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to comply with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medications.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Run errands or accompany clients on appointments.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Provide companionship and report incidents.
• Respond quickly in emergencies.

Private Duty Caregiver Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Private Duty Caregiver Requirements

• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
